Celebs love jewelry that occupies space in an unexpected way, and these Yunardi ear cuffs definitely excel in that department.

The sighting: Superstar singer Lizzo appeared as a guest judge on the season 14 premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race and she donned a truly spectacular pair of ear cuffs for the occasion.

The jewels: Lizzo’s ears are festooned with two ear cuffs by Indonesian designer Rinaldy Yunardi. Each cuff is a graduated spiral of rings that increases in diameter as it snakes up the ear. Each of the rings is adorned with at least one stone.

I haven’t been able to definitively identify the materials of Lizzo’s ear cuffs, but Yunardi has worked in diamonds for past celebrity statement pieces.

Lizzo is also wearing several rings by Shine Like Me, a demi-fine celeb favorite whose crystal between-the-finger rings have also been seen on Madonna, Beyoncé and Lady Gaga.

The trends: Celebrities love jewelry that occupies space in an unexpected way, and these Yunardi ear cuffs definitely excel in that department. The voluminous, full-ear length cuffs may be too much look to translate directly to the everyday consumer’s life, but I can imagine a scaled-down version being a great self-purchase item for younger or more daring shoppers.

What do we think? These ear cuffs look like two sparkly, sentient Slinkeys from outer space that are taking a nap on Lizzo’s ears, and I am fully here for it. Lizzo’s flamboyant, unapologetic persona is one of the things I love about her, and it’s a treat to see her in jewelry that fits the scale of her personality – especially while on Drag Race, a show that demands pizzazz.

Judgement: 11/10 for big fun swirly weirdness

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
