The sighting: The one and only Oprah Winfrey has announced her official Favorite Things for 2023 in O Quarterly, and Oprah herself graced the cover in an all-purple outfit accessorized with a gorgeous pair of Katherine Jetter earrings.

The jewels: Oprah is wearing Katherine Jetter’s emerald and pearl hoop earrings, a design that features an outer half-hoop of freshwater pearls backed by an inner half-hoop of vivid green emeralds (7.70 TCW) set in darkened 18K white gold.

The style is currently listed on Katherine Jetter’s website for $14,800.

The trends: Green jewels of all kinds have dominated color trends recently and pairing them with the also popular pearl in white metal, a material that has just started regaining ground against the ubiquitous yellow gold, makes these earrings at least a triple trend threat.

What do we think? What I think about this is YES. I love a fun hoop, and the fact that these have both a hidden pop of emerald color inside and the luscious texture and luster of pearls outside makes them truly special.

The fact that Oprah paired these babies with an all-purple ensemble just makes me love them more! That hint of green from the emeralds is so good against that monochromatic amethyst outfit.

On a personal note: I’d wear these earrings any day, anywhere. They’re fantastic.

Judgement: 16/10 for gorgeous earrings styled well.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
