The sighting: Entrepreneur and celebutante Paris Hilton recently said “I do” to her fiancé Carter Reum in a lavish wedding at Holmby Hills Estate. The event involved four separate bridal ensembles, a caviar bar, and jaw-dropping diamonds.

The jewels: Paris Hilton accessorized her quartet of wedding gowns with a pair of surprisingly simple drop earrings featuring very large round diamonds. Like Hilton’s stunning emerald cut engagement ring, the extraordinary earrings were custom made by Jean Dousset.

diamond-ringThe specs of these dazzling diamonds remain a mystery, but we wouldn’t be shocked to hear that the combined weight of this precious pair comes close to matching the size of Hilton’s engagement ring, which is believed to be a hefty 10 to 20 carats.

The trends: Despite the fact that Paris Hilton’s fame is largely based on her being a walking example of everything of-the-moment, these earrings are almost shockingly timeless.

That said, I won’t be surprised if more than a few 2022 brides turn to Hilton’s wedding photos for earring inspiration. The diamond drops are so much more romantic than stud earrings, and the two large rounds make for a softer look than linear dangles or chandelier earrings.

What do we think? As a Millennial who came of age during the peak Paris Hilton era, I must admit I was a little bit disappointed that Paris didn’t saunter down the aisle wearing a hot pink veil over a white velvet Juicy Couture sweatsuit and carrying a disgruntled chihuahua.

Y2K nostalgia aside, Paris Hilton’s entire wedding look is straight-up fairytale gorgeousness. Those luscious diamond drop earrings are both extremely luxurious and impressively understated. I don’t have a single criticism.

Judgement: 17/10 for pure bridal perfection, with a few extra points added for refined restraint demonstrated by a frequently flamboyant figure.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
