EVERY TIME I think Zendaya has outdone her last look, she surprises with another stunning and apropos jewel. Whether it is to accessorize an outfit with the help of her stylist Law Roach, wear a heritage or new piece as ambassador for Bulgari, or show off her versatility by wearing outsized hoops from Jennifer Fisher to promote a film, she dazzles in all. Most recently, she wore a pair of Jacob & Co. spiderweb earrings for a photo call in London for Spider-Man: No Way Home, the new Spider-Man film in which she plays MJ to her real life boyfriend Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

Not only were they the perfect earrings for the photo call, if Zendaya is wearing them, she just might bring back spiders and spiderweb jewelry, which have been popular throughout the 20th century as a trend. In the past, we have seen gemstone and diamond dazzlers from vintage Boucheron brooches to Taffin spiders to Cathy Waterman’s gold spiders caught in a web bracelet or ring (my personal favorites). More recently, spiderweb and spider pieces include those by Lydia Courteille and Anna Khouri. But these are often part of a larger direction in nature-inspired jewels.

So the question remains: Will Zendaya keep the spider theme going as she attends the premieres for the film? We can only wait and see …

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
