CaNNES MIGHT HAVE been The Emerald City during the 2023 Film Festival, considering the amount of the vibrant green gems being worn by A-listers during the 12-day event. Emeralds have been trending for some time (since color seems to be here to stay), and it’s a gemstone that looks good on, well, everyone. It is also the stone of renewal, prosperity and hope, and this optimism and symbolism of the stone paves a way to a brighter future.

But let’s get back to the jewels. The emeralds ranged from antique-inspired to ultramodern in their interpretations. Let’s start with Julia Garner, who accented her vivid green Gucci gown with Gucci High Jewelry of emerald and diamond drop earrings and a large emerald with diamond accents ring. And let’s not forget that during the MET Gala, Garner also wore Belperron bracelets with emeralds stacked on one wrist.

Another A-lister wore edgier jewels than she has in years: Cate Blanchett wore Louis Vuitton High Jewelry ear climbers with emeralds and diamonds with one of her outfits at Cannes.

And although many of these celebrities are ambassadors for the brands they wear, it doesn’t make it any less stunning or any less of a trend when you see multiple actresses and models wearing the same gem.

Two other jaw-dropping earrings were Fan Bingbing’s ultra-long emerald pear-shaped and diamond earrings, and Soo Joo Park in Chopard geometric emerald earrings.

Are you green with envy yet? I know it’s got me hankering for a new emerald pair of earrings of my own, or maybe a ring like the one Garner wore.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
