KATE BECKINSALE HAS always gotten it right when it comes to red carpet events. She usually sparkles in long earrings or one or two pieces of diamond jewelry. And while her jewelry styling always works for her, it seems to be getting a little predicable. Beckinsale and her stylist clearly know what works best in jewelry with her swan-like neck, so, sure, why not dress her ears in different styles and modern, antique and vintage periods of linear earrings? But something is a bit off this time.

The ear party is a playful and dazzling mix of Bulgari’s longer diamond pair and what seems to be a floral component stud of the main earring and then a diamond stud going up her earlobe. She is also wearing some diamond rings that aren’t shown in the photos, but I have seen them. They are also from Bulgari and are perfectly styled on her fingers.

But with her pink strapless dress, this time I might have liked to see a statement or even delicate necklace encircling her neck — a neck that could take on any length. The dress, somewhere between blush and bubblegum, also seems to cry out for some pretty colors, whether pastels, muted tones, vivid brights or a mix with a colorful stud earring on each lobe or an ear full of studs that don’t compete with the necklace.

The black latex fingerless gloves threw me off, but the A-List actress might have been going for a tough and tender look. I have more to say about the jewelry than the gloves, but I would have gone without the edge and continued to create the elegance that suits Beckinsale so well.

The ear party and rings are still stunning, and if she were wearing a different neckline, I might have said “perfect.” But for now, let’s just say Beckinsale and her stylist know beautiful jewels when they see them.

Four Decades of Excellence: How Wilkerson Transformed a Jeweler's Retirement into Celebration

After 45 years serving the Milwaukee community, Treiber & Straub Jewelers owner Michael Straub faced a significant life transition. At 75, the veteran jeweler made a personal decision many business owners understand: "I think it's time. I want to enjoy my wife with my grandchildren for the next 10, 15 years." Wilkerson's expertise transformed this major business transition into an extraordinary success. Their comprehensive approach to managing the going-out-of-business sale created unprecedented customer response—with lines forming outside the store and limits on how many shoppers could enter at once due to fire safety regulations. The results exceeded all expectations. "Wilkerson did a phenomenal job," Straub enthuses. "They were there for you through the whole thing, helped you with promoting it, helping you on day-to-day business. I can't speak enough for how well they did." The partnership didn't just facilitate a business closing; it created a celebratory finale to decades of service while allowing Straub to confidently step into his well-earned retirement.
