ULTRA-TALENTED ACTRESS, screenwriter and producer Mindy Kaling, whose honors include two Screen Actors Guild Awards and six Primetime Emmy nominations, posted on Instagram about her early celebrations for the Hindu festival Diwali, which took place Nov. 12.

Her post read, “Is it even Diwali without @falgunishanepeacockindia @falgunipeacock? I love wearing their stunning creations, especially during the festive season. Their talent is matched only by their generosity! And complimenting it all is my perfect @sethicouture jewels. I feel lucky and proud to be able to rep such accomplished Indian brands. I hope your Diwali 🪔 is filled with much needed light ✨and love ❤️”

She wore a jaw-dropping bib necklace of ruby and white diamonds with champagne diamond accents in 18K white gold, along with Edwardian-inspired diamond and ruby earrings in 18K white gold. Her gown was the perfect background for the red-carpet worthy jewels.

Sethi Couture is owned and designed by sisters Pratima and Prerna Sethi, who have diamonds in their genes. They were raised by parents who are purveyors of rare and unusual diamonds, so they were surrounded by the most exquisite stones at an early age and educated on antique, vintage cuts and rare natural color diamonds. Their collection, which has evolved since they launched it in 2009, gives a nod to their heritage and the jewelry’s past but is very much situated in the present day. Their tagline reads “Elevate the Everyday,” which they have done consistently.

I was happy to see Kaling wearing the sisters’ jewelry on a holiday that celebrates traditions, family and friends, creating new memories along the way.

When There’s No Succession Plan, Call Wilkerson

Bob Wesley, owner of Robert C. Wesley Jewelers in Scottsdale, Ariz., was a third-generation jeweler. When it was time to enjoy life on the other side of the counter, he weighed his options. His lease was nearing renewal time and with no succession plan, he decided it was time to call Wilkerson. There was plenty of inventory to sell and at first, says Wesley, he thought he might try to manage a sale himself. But he’s glad he didn’t. “There’s no way I could have done this as well as Wilkerson,” he says. Wilkerson took responsibility for the entire event, with every detail — from advertising to accounting — done, dusted and managed by the Wilkerson team. “It’s the complete package,” he says of the Wilkerson method of helping jewelers to easily go on to the next phase of their lives. “There’s no way any retailer can duplicate what they’ve done.”
