“EUPHORIA” STAR Sydney Sweeney looked glamorous when she attended Giorgio Armani’s “One Night in Venezia” Armani Prive fashion show during the Venice International Film Festival. Her glow was heightened by Bulgari’s diamond choker.

Although Venice was less well-attended due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes, those who did make a showing wore high-voltage diamonds to various events as well as on the red carpet. Sweeney tended toward “less is more” when it came to her jewels during other events but as an Armani ambassador, she put on the glitz for this event. She wore a black strapless floral lacey bodice and full skirt black gown from the house and a stunning Bulgari necklace that complemented the timeless and romantic elegance of her gown and was part of the ongoing trend toward diamond statement necklaces. The Bulgari High Jewelry necklace was in platinum with oval, marquise, brilliant cut and pave set diamonds.

We saw chokers and collars all throughout awards season and then Cannes, and they are now back again in all their dazzling glory. These types of pieces for holiday 2023 could elevate a simple cocktail dress or go well with a more extravagant evening gown. For daytime diamonds, you could go sleeker like Madisin Rian in a diamond triple-strand choker by Messika.

When There’s No Succession Plan, Call Wilkerson

Bob Wesley, owner of Robert C. Wesley Jewelers in Scottsdale, Ariz., was a third-generation jeweler. When it was time to enjoy life on the other side of the counter, he weighed his options. His lease was nearing renewal time and with no succession plan, he decided it was time to call Wilkerson. There was plenty of inventory to sell and at first, says Wesley, he thought he might try to manage a sale himself. But he’s glad he didn’t. “There’s no way I could have done this as well as Wilkerson,” he says. Wilkerson took responsibility for the entire event, with every detail — from advertising to accounting — done, dusted and managed by the Wilkerson team. “It’s the complete package,” he says of the Wilkerson method of helping jewelers to easily go on to the next phase of their lives. “There’s no way any retailer can duplicate what they’ve done.”
