VIOLA DAVIS HAS lit up the red carpet with gorgeous jewels all during awards season. She did it again at the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s “The Albies” event on Sept. 28. Davis wore a stunning off-the-shoulder lavender gown, but the real story was in the jewelry.

It has been an ongoing trend for modern designers to be inspired by Art Deco looks or those of the 1920s and ’30s, and such was the case with these diamond chandelier Cicada earrings and the brand’s wide bangle of rock crystal and diamonds. The bracelet reminded me of the Cartier bangles that Gloria Swanson owned and wore in the film Sunset Boulevard and at a party while waiting to hear if she won an Oscar for her role in the movie as Norma Desmond. She didn’t win, but the jewels sure did. And Davis’s reinvigorated and revamped versions also stood out at the event.

These jewels reflect upon Hollywood’s Golden Age, yet Cicada designed them with a current vibe; they are definitely standout pieces meant for strong, powerful and stylish women like Davis to add to their collections.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
