And the Answer to February’s Gem Quiz Was …

“HARD LIKE IRON,” one contestant commented on his entry form. We think he was referring to the properties of Almandine, not February’s Gem Quiz. It certainly wasn’t too difficult for Irene Schrowang from Schneider’s Jewelers in Kingston, NY. She guessed the gemstone correctly and takes home this month’s grand prize – a Gem Geek t-shirt. Just ask Lesley Ann Davis, owner of Lesley Ann Jewels, an independent jewelry store that — until the end of 2023 — had quite a following in Houston, Texas. To spend more time with her four sons, all in high school, she decided to close her store.
