A jewelry store employee in Minnesota is accused of felony theft.

Jordana Marie Mckinney is accused of stealing more than $27,000 in jewelry from the store in the River Hills Mall in Mankato, the Mankato Free Press reports.

The crimes are alleged to have occurred over a five-month period.

Authorities say Mckinney, 39, claimed to have gotten involved in a “get rich quick scheme” online.

She claimed that she did not know how to extract herself from the scheme.

She said she was selling the jewelry, then sending the money to someone involved with the scheme.
