The International Institute of Diamond Grading and Research has developed a tool to detect synthetic diamonds. Called PhosView, it analyzes polished stones for the possible presence of High Pressure High Temperature Synthetics. The device’s mechanical arms allow for any suspicious stones to be easily removed from a parcel under inspection for individual study. iidgr.com
