A suspet was shot during an armed jewelry store robbery in which Rolex watches valued at $350,000 were stolen.

The crime took place at about 3:20 p.m. on May 6 at A&M Custom Jewelry in Town Center mall in Cobb County, GA.

Marquavis Wilson, 24, was shot in the stomach by a security guard, and the suspects fled with several watches, according to the Jewelers’ Security Alliance. Wilson was later dropped off at a hospital and arrested, and police are searching for the other two suspects.

Shoppers “were running in panic and finding hiding places in the mall after shots were fired,” JSA reports. The mall remained closed through the rest of the evening.

An employee reportedly suffered a superficial injury during the robbery. Police believe the employee was hit in the foot by shrapnel amid the gunfire, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

During the robbery, the suspects “trained their weapons on at least five employees,” at which point the security guard fired at them, according to the Journal-Constitution. It’s not known whether the suspects returned fire.

She Wanted to Spend More Time with Her Kids. She Called Wilkerson.

Your children are precious. More precious than gold? Absolutely! Just ask Lesley Ann Davis, owner of Lesley Ann Jewels, an independent jewelry store that — until the end of 2023 — had quite a following in Houston, Texas. To spend more time with her four sons, all in high school, she decided to close her store. Luckily, she was familiar with Wilkerson and called them as soon as she knew she wanted to move on to bigger, better and more family-focused things. Was she happy with her decision? Yes, she was. Says Davis, “Any owner looking to make that life change, looking to retire, looking to close, looking for a pause in their career, I would recommend Wilkerson. Hands down!”
