IF YOU WERE a little green with envy when you saw Amanda Seyfried step onto the red carpet at the 2023 SAG Awards in a kelly green Prada dress and hairstyle that both seemed inspired by the MOD Sixties, I don’t blame you. Her look was at once fun and elegant. But the deco-inspired earrings turned the look into one that dazzled.

Both periods — the 1920s and 1960s — boasted modern elements for the times. That’s why the combination of influences worked for Seyfried. The earrings elevated the playful, vibrantly colored dress, which served as the perfect complement to the jaw-dropping diamond and emerald earrings. The look was the kind that fashion and jewelry designers borrow the “feeling” from while creating their own unique interpretations.

But let’s get back to Cartier for a moment. The legendary house was one of the major players in the Art Deco movement in jewelry and produced some of the most original and alluring pieces of the day. So it’s only natural that Cartier’s Sixième Sens High Jewelry earrings in platinum with emeralds, onyx and diamonds would give a wink to that era during which the design house blazed a trail for others to follow.

As far as the total look goes, Seyfried took being green seriously, and because she’s a younger actress, she is introducing Cartier to a fresh customer base.
