(PRESS RELEASE) WATERVILLE, ME — Jewelers for Children recently announced its newly elected board of directors. Among those selected to serve for three-year terms is Day’s Jewelers’ very own company president, Joe Corey.

Jewelers for Children is an organization established by the jewelry industry in 1999 to benefit many children’s charities including Make-a-Wish® and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Since its founding, Jewelers for Children has raised over $58 million for a variety of children’s charities benefiting children in need. Day’s Jewelers is proud to be a continued partner of Jewelers for Children and offer donations to their organization through Day’s Diamonds for Peace initiative in order to further the positive impact of the jewelry industry. In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Day’s Jewelers in 2014, the company donated more than $100,000.00 to Jewelers for Children.

Joe says, “Being elected is an honor because I personally, and our company, believe very strongly in the organizations that Jewelers for Children supports.” As a family-focused company, the Day’s Jewelers family believes wholeheartedly in supporting and uplifting children in need, and their families, who benefit from organizations like St. Jude, CASA, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids foundation, and Make-A-Wish®. In fact, in his early years as a manager of the Manchester, New Hampshire location of Day’s, Joe partnered with the Make-A-Wish® Foundation and is grateful to be able to continue support and partnership with the organization through his newfound role on the Jewelers for Children board.
