(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK – Greenwich St. Jewelers announces a special partnership with jeweler Lorraine West to launch her Nipple Collection and an evergreen philanthropic initiative in time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Nipple Collection, which launches exclusively at G.St on September 23rd, includes hoops, a bangle and ring style, all handmade in 14K gold. Brooklyn-based West created the collection in celebration of the strength and resilience of women. Greenwich St. Jewelers will make an ongoing donation of 20% of proceeds from the collection to Living Beyond Breast Cancer, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide resources, empowerment and connection for women affected by breast cancer, especially those in marginalized communities.

West is known for her bold designs and use of abstract shapes which she personally handcrafts. She created the nipple design organically while hammering gold wire at her jeweler’s bench. “The nipple shape correlates to women nurturing themselves and their dreams. I hope the collection allows the wearer to celebrate prevention, the strength of survivors and pay tribute to loved ones whose battle has ended,” said West.

“When I saw Lorraine’s nipple design a few years ago, I recognized a powerful symbol of self-love and acceptance. Part of Lorraine’s genius is creating timeless silhouettes that feel both-in-your-face and subversive.” said Gandia.

The collaboration between Lorraine West and Greenwich St. Jewelers is an organic coming-together of two women-owned businesses, and two women whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. Lorraine’s mother was a licensed home health aide who worked with breast cancer survivors. Her mother, a lifelong caretaker, serves as her constant muse. She also watched two dear friends undergo treatment and ultimately recover. Greenwich St. Jewelers Co-owner Jennifer Gandia’s’ mother, aunt and other family members were also affected by the disease. “Knowing that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime means we all have a personal connection to this disease,” Gandia said.

When selecting a beneficiary for their collaboration, Gandia and West chose an organization focused on support for breast cancer survivors of all walks of life, centered around diversity, equity and inclusion. “Breast cancer can be an isolating experience, especially in marginalized groups. Living Beyond Breast Cancer provides resources for support, inspiration and connection for people of all ages and stages,” said West. “We wanted to support an organization that would have a direct impact on the people fighting this disease at moments where stability is tenuous or a patient is in crisis,” added Gandia.

About Lorraine West

Lorraine West has always had an affinity for creating original art. As a wife, mother and artisan, her handcrafted contemporary and fine jewelry pieces are inspired by love and a passion for connecting with people on an intuitive and authentic level. As a self-taught craftswoman, Lorraine pays homage to her Caribbean roots, mixing bold and minimalist design sensibilities. Welding and manipulating precious metals is what heals her soul. This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
