“Tanzanite is in such demand in the Caribbean that even some major players routinely sell undisclosed simulants to unsuspecting tourists. If you oblige a request for an insurance appraisal, be sure to check the RI. If you trust the original receipt and your eye, it will be your reputation (and potentially your bank account) on the line if someone subsequently discovers that you were wrong.”
