The sighting: Actress Blake Lively recently attended the 2023 Barnard Annual Gala. She wore a delightful floral Carolina Herrera dress and some fabulous jewelry.

The jewels: The coolest thing about this jewelry look is the ear stacks! Lively paired bold bezeled Brent Neale colored gemstone earrings with a set of large pear-shaped diamond studs.

She’s also wearing a number of rings: a big ruby heart ring from Retrouvai and a number of unspecified others that look to be colored gems as well.

Blake Lively Instagram fan account @styleforblakelively credits Lorraine Schwartz for part of this, so I’m guessing Schwartz was the source of those luscious diamond studs or perhaps the rings that are hard to see.

The trends: Lots of trends happening here! Pear diamonds, big bezels, statement earrings without a necklace, and brightly colored gems.

What do we think? Lively famously does not use a stylist, so her jewelry choices always have the fascinating guarantee that the actress chose the pieces herself. This outfit features many of the star’s repeat favorite jewelry designers: she’s worn Brent Neale, Retrouvai, Lorraine Schwartz more than once before.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the actress wear more than one pair of large statement earrings together. I think it’s a really fun style move and one that’s very successful here. The pear studs are so large that you wouldn’t ever expect to see them as a second hole accent piece, but I love how they expand on the foundation of the Brent Neale earrings by extending lobe coverage.

I’ve said this before, but it must be said again here: Blake Lively must have strong earlobes.

Judgement: 16/10 for a creative and fun look.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
