The sighting: Actress Jennifer Garner attended the premiere of her holiday movie, Family Switch, in a red Oscar de la Renta minidress and truly fabulous Hanut Singh earrings.

The jewels: Garner is wearing Hanut Singh’s FLOWERPOWER earrings, a glamorous pair of dangling yellow gold statement earrings with double abstract floral motifs in ruby, peridot, and diamonds.

The trends: This outfit hits several major trends! Choosing statement earrings for the red carpet is hot hot hot, as is skipping a necklace (sigh) and choosing tone-on-tone color choices like rubies with a red dress.

The color combo of red and green is fun and bold, but since this was a December premiere of a Christmas movie, I think this color combo is more about the festive season than big picture trends.

What do we think? These are some very, very good earrings. I’d love them in almost any situation. I find this outfit as a whole to be a little bit lackluster for a movie premiere red carpet, but Family Switch a silly Freaky Friday-style family holiday comedy that involves a baby switching bodies with a dog – so I don’t think there was any need to get out the epic haute couture for this one.

Gentle shade about the movie aside, these earrings are magnificent and would delight me in any situation.

Judgement: 13/10 for truly killer earrings.
