The sighting: First Granddaughter Naomi Biden married Peter Neal on the South Lawn of The White House on Saturday, November 19th. The bride, groom, and wedding party chose Tiffany & Co. jewels.

The jewels: According to Town & Country and CNN, the entire wedding party – including grandmother of the bride, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, wore Tiffany & Co. jewels for the occasion. The wedding was a very private affair, so we only know specifics for the happy couple.

Bride Naomi Biden wore the classically elegant Tiffany & Co. Victoria Earrings, a pair of pearl and diamond drop earrings with creamy South Sea cultured pearls in platinum. The style is currently listed for $9,300 on the brand’s website.

Groom Peter Neil didn’t want to be left out of the sparkly fun: he adorned his lapel with a floral diamond Tiffany & Co. Schlumberger brooch in platinum and yellow gold. It’s an exceptionally beautiful piece, eye-catching and much more detailed than a typical men’s lapel pin.

Both bride and groom chose platinum Tiffany & Co. wedding bands, which surely paired beautifully with Naomi’s emerald-cut diamond engagement ring from Washington DC’s Shah & Shah Distinctive Jewelers.

The trends: Everything here is restrained and very classically bridal, but it’s all so incredibly pretty that I don’t even find it boring. It wouldn’t surprise me if we’re in for a resurgence of classics when it comes to wedding day accessories.

On a personal note, I usually prefer it when brides go further outside the box for their bridal accoutrements…but I just can’t be mad at any of this beauty. Very Grace Kelly/Kate Middleton.

What do we think? The primary jewelry themes for this wedding were classic elegance, platinum, Tiffany & Co., and iconic bridal. Nothing was outside the box, but everything was so wildly gorgeous and perfectly elegant that I didn’t even mind. Naomi’s pearl earrings are lovely, but it’s her beau’s brooch that makes me swoon.

I think the Bidens hit the perfect tone for this event. The jewelry was perfectly curated, impeccably matched, and of the highest quality without feeling inappropriately opulent for a First Family holding the nuptials at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

As classic American jewelers go, Tiffany & Co. is about as iconic as it gets and the brand certainly did the Bidens proud on this day.

Judgement: 16/10 for a gorgeously executed White House wedding.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
