(PRESS RELEASE) MUMBAI, INDIA — The Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB), the largest diamond bourse in the world, has announced the dates for the fourth edition of the Bharat Diamond Week (BDW), the world’s biggest polished diamond and diamond jewelry show.
The fourth edition of the show will run from Aug. 5-7 at the BDB in Mumbai, India. The event is expected to be a catalyst for strong sales for the diamond sector which has seen a slowdown over the past year and which has been hit by the Coronavirus.
More than 150 large, medium and small sized diamond companies will display high quality polished diamonds during the fair, with the BDW playing host to thousands of international and local buyers traveling to the show. There are over 2,500 diamond companies within the Bharat Diamond Bourse. “Every buyer will have a unique opportunity to tour the marvelous diamond bourse and visit the offices of potential sellers who can supply them with absolutely any diamond they need in any shape, size or color,” said Anoop Mehta, president of Bharat Diamond Bourse.
Evgeny Agureev, director of Alrosa’s United Selling Organization, said that since India is a leader in diamond production, cutting and polishing more than 90% of the world’s diamonds, the show was a “never to be missed” event. “India was the first to have cut and polished diamonds and it is by far the world’s largest cutting and polishing centre for diamonds.”
Mehul Shah, vice president of the BDB, said, “The Bharat Diamond Bourse houses more than 2,500 diamond and allied companies and is the engine for the diamond economy of the world. The Bharat Diamond Week encourages small and medium sized companies who are bourse members to display their products and take advantage of the subsidies offered by the Bharat Diamond Week and transfer them to their customers. This will help build their businesses and give an excellent opportunity and exciting offers and services for buyers during the show.”
The Bharat Diamond Week is being held alongside the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) 2020 in Mumbai (Aug. 6-10) and gives visitors and buyers attending the BDW the opportunity to also visit the show. The Bharat Diamond Bourse will supply regular transportation for visitors and buyers between the BDW and the IIJS.

Four Decades of Excellence: How Wilkerson Transformed a Jeweler's Retirement into Celebration
After 45 years serving the Milwaukee community, Treiber & Straub Jewelers owner Michael Straub faced a significant life transition. At 75, the veteran jeweler made a personal decision many business owners understand: "I think it's time. I want to enjoy my wife with my grandchildren for the next 10, 15 years."
Wilkerson's expertise transformed this major business transition into an extraordinary success. Their comprehensive approach to managing the going-out-of-business sale created unprecedented customer response—with lines forming outside the store and limits on how many shoppers could enter at once due to fire safety regulations.
The results exceeded all expectations. "Wilkerson did a phenomenal job," Straub enthuses. "They were there for you through the whole thing, helped you with promoting it, helping you on day-to-day business. I can't speak enough for how well they did." The partnership didn't just facilitate a business closing; it created a celebratory finale to decades of service while allowing Straub to confidently step into his well-earned retirement.
