A former art teacher, John D’Amore began working at his parents’ jewelry store in Cliffside Park over 52 years ago. What started as a sabbatical from teaching became a passionate career as D’Amore and his mother curated their inventory and began to specialize in designer jewelry and luxury watches.
Over the years, the store has grown into an expansive showroom. Likewise, its selection has evolved to accommodate the area’s discerning clientele, offering gifts, diamonds, engagement rings and fine jewelry from world-renowned designers like Bulgari, Marco Bicego, Roberto Coin and many more.
Some of John’s fondest memories are of hosting magnificent events for D’Amore Jewelers’ clientele featuring top designers, exclusive fashions, the finest hospitality and always a fabulous turnout from the Cliffside Park community.
“We’ve always catered to being humble and making sure the customer was well taken care of. It’s been a pleasure to serve everyone, from people seeking giftware, to high end watches and nice pieces of jewelry,” said D’Amore. “I want to express my appreciation to the community for allowing a school teacher from a middle class family to curate these special valuables for them.”
In his retirement, D’Amore looks forward to volunteering with local animal welfare organizations, and spending time with friends and family, including his daughters and grandchildren.
