The sighting: Actress Kate Hudson attended the recent Giorgio Armani Prive Haute Couture Show in a sleek coordinated two-piece outfit and a fabulous pair of statement earrings.

The jewels: The star accessory that Hudson is rocking here is a pair of Boucheron Serpent Boheme Solarite hoop earrings. Each earring features a central open hoop of diamonds with dramatic rays of further diamonds radiating outwards on all sides. It’s an eye-catching design that occupies space in a very satisfyingly dramatic way.

The glamorous hoops are made in 18K white gold with diamonds (6.81 TCW) and are listed on Boucheron’s website for $48,300.

The actress also appears to be wearing a statement ring, but it’s hard to get a good look at it in the paparazzi photos.

The trends: Fancy hoops have been hot the past few years and they’re still very in-demand. These hoops and their out-of-this-world rays channel the celestial jewelry trend and are a great example of far how this the humble hoop can be elevated with the right details.

Hudson is also demonstrating the “big earrings, no necklace” tendency that we’ve seen on a lot of red carpets lately, as well as the return of white metal.

What do we think? These earrings are the perfect finishing touch for this otherwise rather understated outfit. I think the way that these hoops’ sculptural quality is both compelling and glamorous. Kate Hudson nailed this.

Judgement: 14/10 for delightfully chic drama

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
