PATRICIA FIELD, THE ORIGINAL costume designer for HBO’s Sex And the City series and the two films, often used relatively unknown, emerging or independent designers for Sarah Jessica Parker’s character of Carrie Bradshaw. Molly Rogers, who worked with Field on the TV and movie costumes, took over where Field left off, along with co-designer Danny Santiago. They continue to use creative up-and-comers as well as more well-known independents, as can be seen in this photo from the second season of the reboot And Just Like That ….

Here they use Emily P. Wheeler’s Wrap Bead Necklace color-blocked style, which SJP wears wrapped twice around her neck. It is made of 18k rose gold, pink sapphire, morganite, white agate, conch shell, pink opal and pink enamel and is silk-knotted. She wears a shell necklace in between the doubled strand. She is also wearing Silvia Furmanovich’s blue topaz floral marquetry stud earrings.

Throughout the season, SJP has worn Nak Armstrong’s tile riviere necklaces and bracelet, Briony Raymond’s aquamarine and emerald paste necklaces, Fry Power’s bead necklaces, Marla Aaron’s one-of-kind ultra large locks, Taris Thomas’ malachite ring and a bunch of other designers.

Two more episodes to go. I wonder what other pieces are in store for the end of Season 2.

Retiring? Let Wilkerson Do the Heavy Lifting

Retirement can be a great part of life. As Nanji Singadia puts it, “I want to retire and enjoy my life. I’m 78 now and I just want to take a break.” That said, Nanji decided that the best way to move ahead was to contact the experts at Wilkerson. He chose them because he knew that closing a store is a heavy lift. To maximize sales and move on to the next, best chapter of his life, he called Wilkerson—but not before asking his industry friends for their opinion. He found that Wilkerson was the company most recommended and says their professionalism, experience and the homework they did before the launch all helped to make his going out of business sale a success. “Wilkerson were working on the sale a month it took place,” he says. “They did a great job.”
