The sighting: Singer and TV Personality Kelly Clarkson recently attended the Daytime Emmies, where she took home the award for Outstanding Talk Show Host. Clarkson wore a vibrant fuchsia gown for the occasion, with jewels of the same hue.
The jewels: Kelly Clarkson chose jewelry by designer Mason & Books to compliment the rich pink hue of her gown. Specifically, she’s wearing the brand’s Adela drop earrings and Chiffon oval solitaire ring.
The Chiffon oval solitaire ring features pink tourmaline in 14K gold with 0.19 TCW of accent diamonds and is listed on Mason & Books’ website as starting at $5,300.
The Adela drop earrings are a very new style that’s not yet listed online, but they’re a fantastic convertible design with removable drop featuring pink topaz set in pink opal with a removable pink topaz drop.
The trends: I’ve seen quite a few celebs matching their colored gemstone jewels to their outfits lately, including Rihanna, Jennifer Anniston, and Demi Moore. That’s a very high profile group, and all sightings from the past month – so I think we can officially call this a new trend.
Convertible jewelry is very hot this year too, and the Mason & Books Adela drop earrings are a perfect example of why this trend is so appealing. Who doesn’t love a gorgeous two-in-one buy?
What do we think? I personally tend to go for contrasting colors rather than matchy-matchy looks in my own life, but I thoroughly enjoy the drama and impact of the monochromatic outfit trend when jewels are involved. The powerful, punchy color makes a strong statement while the consistency of color overall makes it feel very pulled together and sophisticated.
