TAYLOR SWIFT MADE history at the 2024 Grammys as a four-time recipient of the Best Album award for Midnights. Before that,  she was tied for three wins with Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder. She also is the only female solo artist to win the award this many times. Are you wondering when I am going to get to the jewelry, which, in my estimation was best of the evening? (She was, however, neck-and-neck with Dua Lipa, about whom I will write in an upcoming post.) But let’s stick with Swift for now. She wore a strapless white Schiaparelli gown with a bodice tied in the back and a long train with opera-length black gloves, and while the gown itself was a winner, it seemed to fade into the background of the jewels. The 300 carats of multiple graduated Lorraine Schwartz black-and-white diamond necklaces seemed to echo the winning album. The most alluring piece, created by Schwartz, was a customized Art Deco Concord watch with a white diamond bezel mounted east to west in the middle of a black diamond choker. It was set to midnight in an apparent nod to her historical winning album.

The layering was so good. Next came a white diamond necklace resting just below the watch necklace, followed by a black pear shape dripping from another all-around diamond dazzler. The last piece might have been an ultra-long necklace worn doubled in irregular shapes of flat-cut diamonds.

This isn’t the first time we have seen a celebrity wearing a watch as a choker. In 2023, Rihanna wore a Jacob & Co. baguette-set Brilliant Flying Tourbillon when Pharrell Williams presented his first Louis Vuitton menswear collection show in Paris.

Then at the 2024 Spring Summer fashion week in Paris, Emma Chamberlain wore a Cartier Baignoire on a leather strap as a choker to the Miu Miu show. Rihanna has launched some iconic trends, but my guess is that she has some competition in the “watch as a choker” category. I believe that after Swift’s big evening, Swifties will be imitating her look and it will filter out into the fashion, jewelry and timepiece spaces. We may soon be seeing a range of high to low and vintage to modern interpretations of the look.

In any case, it was a dazzling night to remember.

Ready to Relocate? Wilkerson Makes Your Move Seamless

When Brockhaus Jewelry decided to leave their longtime West Main Street storefront for a standalone building elsewhere in Norman, Oklahoma, owners John Brockhaus and Brad Shipman faced a familiar challenge: how to efficiently reduce inventory before the big move. Their solution? Partnering with liquidation specialists Wilkerson for a second time. "We'd already experienced Wilkerson's professionalism during a previous sale," Shipman recalls. "But their approach to our relocation event truly impressed us. They strategically prioritized our existing pieces while tactfully introducing complementary merchandise as inventory levels decreased." The carefully orchestrated sale didn't just meet targets—it shattered them. Asked if they'd endorse Wilkerson to industry colleagues planning similar transitions—whether relocating, retiring, or refreshing their space—both partners were emphatic in their approval. "The entire process was remarkably straightforward," Shipman notes. "Wilkerson delivered a well-structured program, paired us with a knowledgeable advisor, and managed every detail flawlessly from concept to completion."
