(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK — According to research, the future of the jewelry industry sparkles brightly. However, the jewelry customers of today are very different from customers of the past. They have different expectations of “what they buy”, they’re changing “where they buy” and they want good reason on “why to buy”.

The Plumb Club will be hosting a valuable, retail-learning webinar on these evolving trends, presented by Jewelers of America (JA), in connection with Synchrony Financial. The webinar will take place virtually at the Jewelers Resource Center Auditorium on Thursday, August 17th, 2023 at 2pm EDT.

The webinar, entitled “Leveraging Luxury Industry Trends”, will be presented as a conversation between Regina Ciarleglio of JA., Jonathan Preciado of Synchrony Financial and Amanda Gizzi of JA. The trio will discuss how retailers can leverage a variety of research findings and recent trends such as:

  • The predicted surge in personal luxury goods purchasing;
  • The projected increases in online sales;
  • The changing face and expectation of the luxury customer;
  • The importance of personal style reflection in jewelry purchasing;
  • The evolving trends of the wedding market.

Additionally, the group will point out the importance of financing in ensuring a consumer’s comfort level and reducing a barrier to purchase.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
