Judge the Jewels: Emily Ratajkowski Wears Nothing but a Vintage 1970’S Pendant

It’s a large goldtone Gemini medallion with astrological symbols.

The sighting: Emily Ratajkowski recently posted a TikTok in which she appears swathed in bedsheets, wearing nothing but a necklace. The video is getting a lot of attention because of Ratajkowski controversial opinions, but I only care about the necklace.

The jewels: Ratajkowski’s necklace is a large goldtone Gemini medallion with astrological symbols. It’s vintage, from the 1970’s, and we may have found exactly where the model acquired it.

Celebrity style website StarStyle.com credits the piece to Etsy vintage seller GLTVintage. I compared both images and verified with some Googling…there’s no way to know beyond the shadow of a doubt, but it really does appear to be the same pendant!

The listing in GLTVintage’s sold archive describes the necklace as an oversized 1970’s medallion in good vintage condition, 1 ¾ inches wide, made of unspecified metal and on a 24 inch chain. It has a figural image of the Gemini twins alongside the Gemini symbol and the word “Gemini” on the front, with Gemini’s constellation and dates on the back. The Etsy piece sold for $25.49.

The trends: Astrology is very hot with the Gen Z girlies, and big, beautiful vintage pendants are appealing to many demographics. Same for 1970’s revival, and personalized/sentimental gold medallions. We’ve got trends on trends on trends.

What do we think? I don’t really know if Emily Ratajkowski bought herself a $26 vintage pendant from Etsy, but it would delight me if she did! This is a great necklace that would pair well with many outfits…or with no outfit at all, in case you’re also a supermodel who likes to shoot social media videos in dishabille.
