BEYONCE POSTED a charming photo of herself with hubby Jay Z after her Gold Party. And while Bey was decked out in an urban cowgirl outfit, Jay Z was wearing a tux without his jacket with what looked like button covers and cufflinks along with a Marie Lichtenberg ring. It’s the third time this month I am writing about celebrities wearing independent jewelry designers, and that makes me super happy. Although I am a huge fan of the big houses and their archival jewelry, mega white diamonds and vibrantly designed gemstone jewels, it is really cool that A-listers are wearing pieces that are a bit off the grid.

Marie Lichtenberg has risen to cult status in a short time, winning design awards in 2023 during Las Vegas Jewelry week and being nominated for a prestigious 2024 Gem Award. Stores are clamoring to carry her pieces as customers continue to ask for them.

The ring Jay Z wore was a custom Box Ring in 18K gold with sapphires and diamonds, which when opened reveals a pear shaped diamond. This piece was entirely handmade in Lichtenberg’s Italian workshops, taking a total of 300 hours to construct. with 50 to 60 hours for the setting alone. There is another version of the ring on the Marie Lichtenberg website that reveals her cheeky sense of humor, but this one was custom designed and is the perfect size ring for an icon of Jay Z’s magnitude to wear.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
