(PRESS RELEASE) Polygon, powered by mdf commerce, a network & marketplace for the jewelry industry, will be hosting their annual Gem & Jewelry Show – a Polygon Conclave & Trade Event – in Charlotte, NC from March 17-19.

The event, open to jewelry trade professionals, will provide opportunities for attendees to do business, learn, and build their networks with other like-minded jewelers.

“One thing people really love about Polygon events, is that they get the chance to meet other business owners and interact with them on a personal level,” says Sean Lemire, General Manager of Polygon. “This makes a big difference when it comes to building lasting, trustworthy relationships. Business goes long past just the weekend of the show.”

The show opens with a meet & greet on Friday evening, followed by a full day of seminars and panels, and a dinner event on Saturday. Education this year will cover some pertinent topics for jewelers: a Brunch & Learn will include lightning talks from others in the industry sharing experiences on doing business in the post-covid world, one session will look at security issues and tips, and Brad Huisken from IAS Training will lead a seminar on how to effectively manage people to increase productivity.

“Sharing experiences, interacting with experts and learning from peers are important aspects in ensuring attendees get the most out of the education program,” says Lemire. “It’s important to have actionable take-aways when you attend these shows and events.”

In addition to networking and education, the trade show floor will be open all day Sunday. Exhibitors include jewelers with OTC and other jewelry items to sell, diamond dealers, lab grown wholesalers, jewelry sellers, watch dealers and more. Those walking the floor are welcome to come to buy or backpack the event. This is a great opportunity to flip out of some inventory, make some money, and find great deals on unique items.

The show will take place at the Charlotte Marriott City Center. Registration is open and early bird pricing available until February 17, and passes start at just $25 for retailers to attend Sunday’s trade show.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
