THE MINUTE I saw the photo of Yara Shahidi at the Women in Film 2023 Honors, I knew I wanted to cover it, as it was such a refreshing look. It stood out to me as everything that us regular women could imitate –  maybe not in the freezing winter cold of much of the U.S. currently, but in sunbelt states and then in spring. Shahidi was one of the evening’s honorees and wore a Grecian style all-white gown by Max Mara and Cartier jewelry. While her earrings and rings were special, it was the wide-domed Cactus de Cartier bracelet, with its vivid colors and rejuvenating design, that perfectly accented the white gown. It was from one of Cartier’s modern collections and it was crafted from 18K gold, emeralds, chrysoprases, carnelians and diamonds. The bracelet was a show stopper. She complemented the look with Cartier Grain de Café earrings and ring that mixed 18K yellow and white gold with diamonds.

The colorful bracelet with delicate cactus flowers paired with a simple white gown will hopefully influence those who wear winter or spring/summer whites or any other wardrobe to pair with a spirited jewel. It is just the right amount of jewelry with smaller drop earrings and a ring that allows the wearer to stand out while the jewelry accents and serves as a conversation starter.

It made me want to break out all my whites and accessorize with a feminine yet bold and colorful jewel. Hopefully this inspiration will be contagious.

97 Years of Family History, One Right Decision: How Malloves Jewelers Found the Right Partner to Close with Grace

Marc Levin’s grandfather Max founded Malloves Jewelers in Middletown, CT, in 1928. Nearly a century later, Marc — the third-generation owner — knew it was time to retire. He’d watched friends and fellow jewelers navigate store closings with Wilkerson’s help, and their recommendations were hard to ignore. Once he connected with the Wilkerson team, the decision was clear. “They made me feel like family,” he says. Wilkerson’s team handled every detail day by day, kept Marc informed every step of the way and delivered results that met and exceeded his financial goals. Watch Marc share the story of Malloves Jewelers’ final chapter — and why he slept soundly through all of it.
