Gem Quiz: You’ll Find This Chuck Norris-Like Gem in Men’s Rings and Hunting Knives

If Chuck Norris were a gemstone-quality piece of ancient reef, he’d be a lot like me: tough, rare and going it alone on a 400-million-year-old beach off the southeastern coast of Alaska. You won’t find me sitting daintily above an engagement ring. No sir. On the rare occasions I make it into polite society, it’s as inlay in a REAL men’s ring or in the handle of a 17-inch hunting knife (preferably one that pulls from a shagreen sheath). Close friends call me that grumpy old fossil. Others who aren’t so intimate call me favosite. But it’s my business name I want you to guess.

Who am I?

Guess this gem for a chance to win a “Jewelry Geek” T-shirt. Be sure to include your full name and the name and address of your store. The contest winner will be selected from among correct answers to this question.

She Wanted to Spend More Time with Her Kids. She Called Wilkerson.

Your children are precious. More precious than gold? Absolutely! Just ask Lesley Ann Davis, owner of Lesley Ann Jewels, an independent jewelry store that — until the end of 2023 — had quite a following in Houston, Texas. To spend more time with her four sons, all in high school, she decided to close her store. Luckily, she was familiar with Wilkerson and called them as soon as she knew she wanted to move on to bigger, better and more family-focused things. Was she happy with her decision? Yes, she was. Says Davis, “Any owner looking to make that life change, looking to retire, looking to close, looking for a pause in their career, I would recommend Wilkerson. Hands down!”
